This month, Anne Curtis, the Filipino-Australian actress, model, TV host, and entrepreneur, graces the cover of Harper’s BAZAAR Singapore’s January 2025 issue. Since her acting debut in 1997, Curtis has made a name for herself in the Filipino entertainment scene and beyond. 1. She was born in Australia
Anne Curtis was born on 17 February 1985 in the town of Yarrawonga in Victoria, Australia, to a Filipino mother and an Australian father. She attended kindergarten and primary school in Australia before moving to the Philippines.
2. She made her debut at the age of 12
At just 12 years old, the young Curtis made her film debut in the fantasy show Magic Kingdom: Ang Alamat ng Damortis (1997), playing the role of Princess Dahlia. Curtis then signed with Viva Films and GMA Network. Her television debut was in the romance series, Ikaw na Sana. In 2004, Curtis moved from GMA Network to ABS-CBN.

3. Her breakout role was as a disfigured woman in Kampanerang Kuba
Curtis’ big break came when she played a disfigured woman in the series Kampanerang Kuba (2005), her first collaboration with Filipino film and TV director and screenwriter Wenn V. Deramas. She soon took more starring roles in films. Her notable works include roles in the critically acclaimed film Baler (2008), which won her the Best Actress award at the Metro Manila Film Festival, No Other Woman (2011), and A Secret Affair (2012).
4. She is a long-running host for a variety show
This year marks Curtis’ 16th anniversary since becoming one of the hosts of the beloved variety programme, It’s Showtime. Her long-running involvement in the show saw a celebratory performance with the rest of the cast in 2023.
5. She has a loving husband, with whom she shares an adorable daughter
In December 2016, Curtis became engaged to her longtime boyfriend Erwan Heussaff, a restaurateur and food blogger. She first introduced Heussaff as her boyfriend in 2011. They tied the knot on 12 November 2017 in Queenstown, New Zealand.
On 2 March 2020, Curtis gave birth to her daughter, Dahlia Amélie Curtis-Smith Heussaff. “The patience you discover when you become a mother is insane. Some things that would have previously blown your fuse just don’t anymore. It’s so innate and natural,” says Curtis in our January 2025 cover interview.
6. She’s besties with the ‘It Girls’ of the Philippines
Known as the ‘It Girls’ of the Philippines, Curtis is close friends with fellow celebrities Georgina Wilson, Solenn Heussaff, Isabelle Daza, Liz Uy, and Bea Soriano Dee. The friend group dates back to the early 2000s and was even featured on a reality show by E! Asia, which gave a glimpse into the girls’ friendship and lifestyles.
7. She’s the most-followed celebrity on Instagram in the Philippines
With over 20 million followers on Instagram, Curtis claims the spot for the most followed celebrity in the Philippines. She is the first in the country to hit the milestone, proof of her impact in the region.
8. She is a Tiffany & Co. Friend of the House
Earlier in November 2024, Anne Curtis made an appearance at Tiffany & Co.’s Blue Book 2024 event in Singapore as a Friend of the House, expanding her presence in the fashion world and beyond.

9. She is a regular at fashion shows
Curtis is a stylish regular at Fashion Week and attends shows by luxury fashion houses like Louis Vuitton, Gucci, and Dior, to name a few.
10. She published a children’s book
Inspired by her love for children, reading, and writing, Curtis—who is a UNICEF Philippines National Ambassador—has always been passionate about helping and advocating for children’s rights. Her children’s book titled Anita, The Duckling Diva, was well received by her fans. It sold out at her book signing event in Manila, a testament to her popularity.
11. She has a wax figure at Madame Tussauds in Hong Kong
In December 2024, Curtis made history as the first Filipina actress to be featured in the Madame Tussauds wax museum in Hong Kong. The museum, known for housing wax sculptures of notable figures, is a nod to Curtis’ enduring influence in the industry.
12. She’s an animal lover
An avid animal lover, Curtis has had multiple pets throughout her life. In July 2024, she shared that her beloved cat Mogwai had passed away after being with the family for 11 years.
13. She loves to shop, eat and read in her free time
Curtis enjoys shopping, reading and eating in her free time. From mystery thrillers like The Paris Apartment to bittersweet novels like Before The Coffee Gets Cold, Curtis is an avid reader of various book genres.
